About Us

Thame Netball Club was formed in 2008 and has trained in Thame and played in the Aylesbury District Netball League since its inception.

We currently have two senior teams: Tornadoes and Hurricanes for players aged 16+ and a junior team, Cyclones for players ages 14-16.

Our senior teams play in the ADNL league on Wednesday evenings between September and May, with weekly matches at a venue in Aylesbury. Both teams are currently in Division 4.

Our junior team play in the AJNL (Aylesbury Junior Netball League) on Thursday evenings. As this is their first season, Cyclones have been placed in Division 2, playing at John Colet College, Wendover.

We train weekly on Friday evenings (6:00 - 7:30) at Lord Williams's Lower School Sports Hall in Thame. We welcome people of all abilities (age 14 or above) so whether you want to play competitively, are just getting back into netball or just want to get out and meet some new people.

The club aims to provide a fun based environment at training but we take skill development seriously and want every player to reach her potential. A high level of commitment is expected from each player.

A committee of volunteers run the club in the roles of chair, secretary, treasurer, safeguarding officer and publicity officer along with the coach and the captains and vice-captains of each team. Alongside these core committee positions, we also have social secretaries who arrange all of our club socials throughout the year.

We also encourage players who are interested to become umpires. The club will cover umpiring course costs and provide support including paying £10 per match umpired.
