Tornadoes edge the win over Phoenix
Thame Tornadoes 16 - 15 Phoenix
Buoyed from watching Hurricanes triumph, Tornadoes made it two out of two with a win!
Tornadoes played Phoenix, who were on a winning streak (not losing a game this season) until they faced their worst nightmare.
Phoenix dominated the 1st quarter, with Tornadoes having a slow start but beginning to pick up the pace as the game continued.
By the 2nd quarter, Tornadoes levelled the playing field bringing the score to 9-9 at half time. Acting like it was 0-0, all the players kept up the energy and positivity on court allowing us to keep pushing in the physical match!
Thame kept their patience and played their own game meaning in the 3rd quarter they managed to gain a few more goals. However, the game wasn't won just yet and Phoenix came back fighting. It was an extremely tense final quarter, with only a 1 goal difference between the two teams. A fast paced last two minutes saw Tornadoes score what would be the winning goal with the timer sounding just as Phoenix had a final shot which could have finished the game as a tie!
Tornadoes kept all of their fans on the sidelines on the edge of their seats, but it was a fantastic game of netball to watch and play!
