A Very Close Call ... Tornadoes Tipped at the End
Thame Tornadoes 19 - 23 - Sparrowhawks
A tough match where Tornadoes really pushed themselves and, even though we admitted a close defeat, this only adds to our determination for the next game!
Throughout the first half, the score remained very close, often with Tornadoes battling away 1 goal ahead. Despite the extremely strong GA in the opposition team, Nic, Karen and Jen did an excellent job in the defence end with some great intercepts and strong pressure!
Very few shots were missed, and shooters practiced implementing their new strategy of coordinating one in and one out of the circle. Centre court was fast paced with some great intercepts and smooth passes down the court.
The latter half of the game perhaps had some frustrations and low morale, with us losing possession a few too many times...but we kept battling to the end, Tornadoes style! In the end Sparrowhawks took the victory, albeit only by 4 goals, but the match has helped point out areas to improve so we can come back fighting!
