Thame Tornadoes 22 - 5 Long Crendon Aces
After a difficult game last week Tornadoes were ready to get back to their winning ways and they did not disappoint. A brilliant level of attack and defence combined ended in Tornadoes winning a whopping 22-5 against Long Crendon Aces.
Tornadoes had a great start to the game with mid court getting that ball up into the attacking third using all the space. Emily and Catriona working well together within the circle to score those goals and by the end of the first quarter Tornadoes had taken their first lead.
Throughout the second and third quarter Karen, Nic and Jen were superb at intercepting those attacking passes in the defensive third and grabbing re-bounds to help maintain our lead. The third quarter saw such a brilliant level of defence from Nic & Jen that Aces were unable to score a single goal. Nic was perhaps a tad too excited about this as she was caught ‘hugging’ the defence!
Although in the lead, Tornadoes did not get complacent. Aimee, Lucy and Tanya were still working well at getting that ball into the attacking third utilising those interceptions from the defence. Holly, Catriona and Emily continuing to get those goals despite some very hands-on defence!
It seems Tornadoes are coming into their own and are getting better and better as a new team, working together and learning what works for them! A great performance all round.
Congratulations to Aimee for receiving Man of the Match for being anywhere and everywhere she was needed again!
